Significant increases in academic outcomes for 学生 furthest from educational justice are possible when culturally responsive practices that build trusting relationships, 参与的学生, and empower the voices of 学生, 家庭, and community in meeting their needs are used.

This commitment serves to guide decisions in promoting fair and equitable treatment for all.

In committing to 安全 温馨的环境s in 正规买足球的App, we recognize the racial disproportionality in the disciplinary responses across our school system AND are dedicated to creating the conditions and relationships for all 学生 to be successful. When 学生 can show up as their authentic selves, 他们感到被重视, 在学校受到欢迎和安全, and are more likely to participate, 留在学校, 和学习.  To accomplish this, we will need to:

• Eliminate barriers that keep 学生 from learning by using trauma informed and culturally responsive practices to support 学生 academically, 行为, 社交和情感;
• Address the undeniable harm and impact on student engagement and graduation rates when exclusionary practices are used;
• Provide inclusive 温馨的环境s that center student motivation, 学习和归属感;
• Design learning that provides 学生 with flexible options to learn and share what they know;
• Use student voice to co-create options that ensure more inclusive and equitable learning.

Successful 安全 温馨的环境s can be measured by 学生 who feel comfortable speaking to school staff when they experience emotional and/or physical stressors that negatively impact their behavior and staff who demonstrate their commitment to supporting 学生 identifying them as a trusted adult.

The Basic Rules of 正规买足球的App sets forth the rules and regulations of 正规买足球的App regarding student behavior. It is created in compliance with the requirements of state law and is aligned with the 正规买足球的App Strategic Plan. It references sections of the 华盛顿 Administrative Code (WAC) that govern use of corrective responses (i.e., discipline, suspension, and expulsion) for any student by a school district.

The foundation of 正规买足球的App’ discipline policy is established through the lens of prevention within an inclusive, 安全, 温馨的环境.  利益相关者, 学生, 家庭, 教育工作者, 管理员, 区工作人员, 和志愿者, co-create shared school-wide behavioral expectations, 共同的语言, as well as discipline procedures and strategies that aim to maximize instructional time and reduce out of classroom and school consequences for behavior.  School staff are committed to implementing disciplinary responses that affirm all 学生’ connection to their school community, while nurturing and restoring student-school relationships.
